Seminar and Reading Group on ‘Social Cognition and Social Action’

This SRG will begin on Monday June 4, 2012, and will have 6 sessions before summer holidays: June 4, 11, 18, 25, July 2, 9, from 12:00 to 14:00. And, then, it will be resumed on October 2012.

Venue: Room B1, 1^st floor at the Santamaria Centre.

The approach will be mostly philosophical, but also open to psychological, anthropological, social-theoretical and logical analysis.

On June 4 an introductory talk will be given by the coordinator on ‘Why philosophy of (social) action?’, and the following texts will be discussed:

1. D. Davidson, Actions, Reasons, and Causes (1963)
2. J. O. Urmson, Motives and Causes (1952)
